WiFi QR Code generator — Guide
Generate and download QR codes for quick connections to WiFi networks.
What it is and when to use it
Turn your WiFi credentials into a QR code guests can scan to join instantly — no more reading passwords aloud. Fill in the network name (SSID), pick the security mode (WPA by default, or a no-password open network), type the password and optionally mark the SSID as hidden; then download the code as a PNG for printing.
Generates a Wi-Fi QR code so guests can join the network by scanning instead of typing the password.
How to use it
- Enter the network name (SSID)
- Enter the password and pick the security type
- Generate, then scan or download
A worked example
Things that trip people up
- The QR code contains the password in plain form — be careful about posting it in public places
Questions people ask
- How does scanning a WiFi QR code work?
- The QR encodes a standard WIFI: string (SSID, password, security mode). iOS and Android both detect this format natively and offer to join the network straight from the camera.
- My network has no password — which mode do I pick?
- Choose the no-password/open option. Picking WPA with an empty password produces a code phones cannot use — the mode must match how the router actually broadcasts.
- Does it work with a hidden SSID?
- Yes — mark the SSID as hidden and the code carries that flag. Guests still need to be within radio range, and some older devices handle hidden networks less smoothly.
