Math evaluator — Guide
A calculator for evaluating mathematical expressions. You can use functions like sqrt, cos, sin, abs, etc.
What it is and when to use it
Evaluate mathematical expressions directly — arithmetic, parentheses, and functions like sqrt, cos, sin and abs. Faster than opening a spreadsheet for a one-off calculation, and it keeps the full expression visible so you can check the formula, not just the result.
Evaluates mathematical expressions with functions such as sqrt, sin, cos and abs — handier than a system calculator.
How to use it
- Type the expression
- The result updates live, or after you click evaluate
- For long expressions, verifying the steps separately is worthwhile

Questions people ask
- Which functions can I use?
- The common math set: sqrt, abs, trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan), logarithms and more. Type the expression as you would write it — the standard precedence rules apply.
- Why does 0.1 + 0.2 not equal exactly 0.3?
- Floating-point arithmetic: binary cannot represent 0.1 exactly, so the result is 0.30000000000000004. It is a property of every IEEE 754 calculator, not a bug in this one.
- Are angles in degrees or radians?
- The trig functions follow the JavaScript convention and use radians — convert with deg * pi / 180 first if your data is in degrees.
